How do I book an appointment?

Email works out best for me! Shoot me an email to boiledpeanuttattoos@gmail.com. I typically respond in one to 3 days and will send you a link to a calendar so you can find the date and time that works best for you.

Do you take a deposit?

I do! For custom work, I take a non-refundable deposit of $200 that goes towards the cost of the tattoo. For flash tattoos and tattoos from the secret book of flash, I take a non-refundable deposit of $100. The deposit is taken at the time of booking. If you reschedule with less than 2 days notice, the deposit is forfeited. If you don’t show up to the appointment time or show up more than 15 minutes late, the deposit is forfeited.

How far in advance do you book?

I typically book between a week to 3 months in advance. Any more than that, just wait until closer to the date to reach out through email.

Where can I find your flash?

I’ve got my currently available flash posted on my website, kimberfowler.com as well as on Instagram in my highlights section. I also have a book of secret flash that can only been seen in person at the shop or during your appointment.

Do you tattoo your flash multiple times?

I will tattoo most of my flash up to 3 times or so.

Do you tattoo your flash in both color and black and grey?

I do tattoo my available flash in both color in black and grey. Occasionally there is a design that can only be done in one or the other but I’ll let folks know that ahead of time.

Do you take custom projects?

I do take on custom projects that are in my skill set! During the summer months, I tend to not take custom work due to lack of available drawing time but Fall-Spring, shoot me an email! I will occasionally turn away custom requests that are not in my wheelhouse or are requests that won’t age well over time. My minimum for custom tattoos is $450, which is higher than my minimum for flash tattoos. This is to cover my time spent drawing the design.

Do you do coverups?

I do take on coverups. I ask folks wanting to cover a tattoo to come into the shop for a free 15 minute consultation so I can see the tattoo and available space around it. I can’t cover up everything but smaller stuff and a willingness to work with me on the design helps so much in a successful cover up.

How much do your tattoos cost?

I charge an hourly rate of $200 per hour. For flash tattoos, I have a $300 minimum. For custom tattoos, the minimum is $450. The minimum cost helps me cover the cost of supplies and time spent drawing in the case or custom work. I typically work in 3 hour sessions so you can expect a single session tattoo to be between 1.5-3 hours total. You can definitely ask for a ball park quote ahead of time.

How long are your sessions?

For both flash and multiple session projects, I typically work within 3 hours or so. This helps with budgeting, pain management and with scheduling for me!

How do you price large projects, such as back pieces?

Since everyone’s bodies are so varied in shape and size, it’s very hard to give an exact quote for something as large as a back piece. Generally, expect at least 3 sessions ( my sessions are about 3 hours long) at my hourly rate of $200 per hour. With more detail and color and size, etc, there will end up being more sessions since it will take us more time to complete. For a frame of reference, the longest tattoo I’ve worked on was a whole back/butt that was full color and it took about 25 hours to complete.

I am happy to space out sessions over the course of a year to help with pain management, budgeting and healing!

Can I use numbing cream?

I don’t mind numbing cream being applied ahead of time before your appointment as long as you give me notice that you will be using it

Do you tattoo over scars?

I will tattoo over well healed scars that are a year or two old and older. That way the scar is very settled into the skin.

Do you take Venmo or Cashapp or just cash?

Physical cash only please. I take the deposit through card payment and the remaining balance is paid in cash at the time of the appointment.

Can I see your flash ahead of time?

You can see all of my available flash on kimberfowler.com or in my Instagram highlights. I’ve got a secret flash book that you’re also welcome to book an appointment for. I love working from the secret flash book where you can choose from loads of designs that aren’t posted online. You don’t have to even have a spot in mind already, we can find a design in the book and see what fits best during your flash appointment.
